Staff members often struggle to create productive and clear relationships with their supervisors. Great employees manage up effectively. They understand how to leverage communication and conversations to move the work forward. Effective managing up allows employees to recognize problems and help their supervisor resolve them, so the whole organization can benefit. This workshop will outline the managing up process, help participants develop the tools to structure communication in an effective manner, and give them the knowledge to build better relationships with their coworkers and supervisors.

Most people experience some level of anxiety when they have to speak in front of a group; in fact, public speaking is many people’s greatest fear. By learning to focus on physical presence and voice, a facilitator can deliver highly effective presentations. This three part workshop will allow participants to create a short presentation in which they can experiment and develop a facilitation style that suits them. Learning to prepare for your audience, managing your anxiety, developing your timing, and controlling the room with your physical presence are the keys to delivering any highly effective presentation.

Groups often struggle to function efficiently and effectively. Group dynamics – the interplay of personalities, identities, power, and other often “hidden” factors – affect the group’s ability to work well. Structure also plays a significant role in how well a group works. Structuring the group’s agenda, ways of working together, and other factors can be the difference between full and effective engagement and lackluster commitment in a meeting. We will uncover the key factors in group dynamics and how to recognize and manage them.

We avoid difficult conversations in life and at work. Ignoring these opportunities leads to unresolved stress, strained relationships, and negative or vulnerable feelings. Understanding that feelings are the core element of a conversation is the first step to finding common ground. This workshop will explore tools, techniques, and the language used to name and describe feelings during difficult conversations that will contribute to more successful resolutions.

This multi-part course covers a wide range of organizational development theories, models, and tools that human resource professionals can use in their work. The course can be customized to a specific group’s needs, and sessions can cover the following topics:

Duration: Six to ten four-hour sessions

Pre-Requisite: Human resource experience

Pricing:

First 20 participants (minimum 12 participants?): $24,000 for first six sessions; $3,000 each additional session
Each additional participant (maximum participants may be dependent upon location): Rate TBD per total number of participants and sessions
Materials fee of $150 per participant

OPG coordinates all food and logistics but client is responsible for associated costs
