Are you responsible for designing meetings, facilitating workshops, or training large groups? Come join us for a 3-day intensive led by Laura Freebairn-Smith where we will explore and practice the skills of a master facilitator.
In this workshop, you will experience:
Working in groups, whether in short meetings or extended multi-day sessions, is a primary way that human beings get work done in today’s world. And yet, a significant majority of leaders and staff feel that meetings and planning sessions are not well run and are a waste of time.
“…meetings have increased in length and frequency over the past 50 years, to the point where executives spend an average of nearly 23 hours a week in them, up from less than 10 hours in the 1960s. And that doesn’t even include all the impromptu gatherings that don’t make it onto the schedule.”
Harvard Business Review
“46 percent (of staff) think at least some of the meetings they attend are a waste of time.”
Many of us are responsible for making these sessions work well and yet we struggle to find good advice, deep training, and solid techniques to do so. Others of us see facilitation as a primary role in our career, whether as internal culture creator, external consultant, or trainer. In Mastering Group Facilitation, we give you tools and training in the critical elements of a good facilitator: superb agenda design and prep, public presence, and the ability to lead groups in a variety of forms of engagement.
